Twitter Verified NFT Profile Pictures

Twitter has now rolled out support for verified NFT profile pictures. The feature is currently exclusive to Twitter Blue subscribers, a $2.99/mo subscription service for premium features on the platform. Access to the verified NFT profile picture features is expected to eventually roll out for all users. The new integration allows users to connect their profile picture to their wallet in order to verify ownership.

Twitter received backlash for relying on OpenSea's API to query and verify NFT data. Once authenticated, NFT profile pictures are displayed as a hexagon. A short description, the creator of the contract, and the properties of the NFT are displayed when users click on a verified NFT profile picture. The feature is only available on iOS devices.

ENS Offchain Resolution Toolkit

Ethereum Name Service has released a first version toolkit for offchain resolution of domain names. Developers can use the toolkit to build infrastructure that allows hosting domains and subdomains offchain in order eliminate gas fees for record updates. Currently, record updates cost users upwards of $150 in gas fees.

These names will resolve seamlessly in web3 libraries that support ENS's new resolution standard. It marks the first step in ENS's plans for L2 and offchain support. Service providers will soon be able to issue ENS subdomains without incurring transaction fees. The toolkit is currently available for use in test environments with a production ready release in the works.

BitDAO Proposes $200 Million zkSync Fund

BitDAO, a DAO focused on funding token swap projects, has opened a proposal to fund development of zkSync. If approved, the proposal will allocate $200 million towards a zkDAO accelerator. The accelerator would support strategic capital, grants, security audits, R&D, education, and operations for zkSync.

100 million $BIT tokens are required for the proposal to be approved.  $BIT token holders have until January 27th to vote. zkSync plans to eventually decentralize governance of its platform and open source all developments. BitDAO holds billions in assets under management with support from Pantera, Dragonfly, Spartan, and Bybit among other firms.

Bud Light Uses NounsDAO PFP

The Nouns Foundation has gifted a beer-themed Noun NFT to Bud Light following a proposal to feature Noun glasses in a Super Bowl commercial and on real beverage cans. The beer-themed NFT (Noun 179) was purchased by the Nouns Foundation for 127 ETH, worth about $394,000. Bud Light changed their Twitter profile picture to Noun 179 soon after receiving the NFT.

NounsDAO is an NFT project that mints one new NFT avatar per day. Proceeds from the sale of Nouns goes into a community treasury used to fund projects and initiatives by the DAO. Bud Light reportedly gained interest in NFTs after Gremplin, the artist behind NounsDAO and Cryptoadz, animated a Nouns-themed Budweiser can. Bud Light is yet to confirm plans with Nouns as no official agreement was signed.

Dune Analytics Adds Sign-In With Ethereum

Crypto analytics platform Dune Analytics has added support for sign-in with Ethereum. Users can now connect a wallet to their account through the setting page. Users can also choose to display their address on their profile. Sign-In with Ethereum is a form of authentication that enables users to access services with their Ethereum wallet. Users can also manage a digital identity and incorporate their ENS profile.
